The aim of the Ex Post Evaluation was to evaluate what the 2007–2013 Structural Funds programmes achieved and to identify any lessons that can be learned for the implementation of the 2014–2020 programmes and the design of any future programmes. The evaluation involved a review of all programme and project level evaluations undertaken on the programmes; as such it represents a synthesis of earlier learning, much of which has already been reflected in the design and delivery of the 2014–2020 programmes, in supported projects and the development of project proposals.
