The Welsh Government has commissioned OB3 Research in partnership with the Wales Institute of Social and Economic Research, Data and Methods (WISERD) to conduct a formative, process evaluation of the Seren Network.
The Seren Network is a network of regional partnership hubs created to support the academically brightest A-level students to progress to the UK's leading universities (i.e. Russell Group/Sutton Trust 30). The eleven hubs cover all schools and colleges with sixth forms in Wales and deliver Seren activities throughout the academic year.
The research aims to undertake a formative evaluation of the Seren network to inform decisions about the criteria for young people's participation and the design and delivery of the programme at national and local levels.
The evaluation methodology includes document and data analysis, interviews with stakeholders, focus groups with participating young people and surveys withparents andschool sixth form/MAT coordinators.
