OB3 Research has been appointed by the Education Workforce Council (EWC) to undertake research into ‘teacher training incentives’, comparing Wales and England in order to inform the development of Welsh Government policy.
The research seeks to:
explore the relationship between incentives schemes in Wales and England, and the impact of these on recruitment to initial teacher education (ITE) in the two countries;
set out the patterns of incentive and recruitment over recent years to determine whether there are correlational relationships
challenge the micro-narratives at organisational and political levels about the impact of competition between the two countries.
