OB3 Research, in collaboration with BRO Partnership, has been commissioned by Bridgend County Borough Council, as host authority for the Valleys Regional Park project, to undertake an evaluation of the project in order to inform the next phase of delivery that is subject to an ESF funding application for 2020 to 2023.
Valleys Regional Park is funded by the Welsh Government and aims to connect more people with the unique landscape of the south Wales valleys.
The evaluation objectives are to:
· ascertain whether the VRP project is achieving its aims and objectives as set out in the VRP Prospectus and Delivery Plan
· measure the extent to which the project is contributing to facilitating and enabling greater strategic cooperation across the Valleys
· evaluate whether the project is acting as a catalyst for longer term collaborative cross-sector, cross boundary approaches work
· assess whether the various project activities are well integrated and starting to deliver collective benefits
· draw evident conclusions from the implementation of the project at the end of 2021 and make appropriate recommendations for the future delivery if ESF funding is approved up to 2023.
